Specialized Foot Care
Laguna Woods Podiatry Group performs ambulatory foot surgeries at the Pacific Hills Surgical Center. Most of these procedures allow patients to experience minimal symptoms, less pain, and walk out of the center on their own with quicker healing. These procedures use specially-designed instruments and take about 35 minutes or more, with excellent results.
Laser Fungal Nail Treatment
Toenail fungus is a fungal nail infection of the toenails. These fungal infections usually cause discoloration, thickening and often softening of the nails. Nail fungus is a difficult condition to treat and may often cause permanent damage to the nails and possibly nail loss. Our treatment is painless and takes under 30 minutes.
Laser Ingrown Toenail Removals
Ingrown toenails are a common condition where the corner or side of a toenails grows into the soft flesh of that toe, causing pain, redness, swelling and, sometimes, infection. Ingrown toenails mostly affect the big toe. Diabetics or other poor circulation foot conditions have a higher risk of complications from ingrown toenails.
Plantar warts are noncancerous skin growths on the soles of your feet caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), which enters your body through tiny cuts in the skin. Plantar warts develop beneath the foot pressure points in the heels or balls of your feet. While most plantar warts aren't a serious health concern, they may be bothersome or painful.
Bone spurs are bony growths formed on normal bone and form in response to pressure, rubbing, or stress that continues over a long period of time. Bone spurs are extra bone, usually smooth, causing wear and tear or pain as it presses or rubs on other bones or soft tissues such as ligaments, tendons, or nerves in the foot occurring in the foot bones and joints.
Hammertoe is a contracture (bending) of one or both joints of the second, third, fourth, or fifth (little) toes. This abnormal bending puts pressure on the toe when wearing shoes, causing complications. Hammertoes begin as mild deformities and progressively worsen over time. First, hammertoes are easily managed but often require surgical procedures if not corrected.
